Why Freeze Dry Candy??

This is a question that we are asked at least once at every event that we vendor. The short answer? Because it’s fun!

Though candy can get stale or lose flavor, it generally has a fairly long shelf life without loading it onto trays and preserving it in a machine for roughly a day. And nutrients? Not many to worry about with candy.

But – oh the look on the faces of folks trying freeze-dried Skittles or Salt Water Taffy for the first time! The flavors intensify while the texture changes … and the eyes get wide while the exclamations begin.

And we can’t help being right there in the moment with them.

Self-disclosure, I’m a pretty ginormous candy fiend. I am all about the candy, which means that I’m constantly either experimenting with new candy to fill the freeze dryers – or thinking about what to try next.
